Spoken like a true person who has never seen a day on the streets. Just how does she propose would be a more suitable way to capture these suspects...... asking "Please will you guys just come in and talk with us?" Besides...... wasn't the older brother run over by the younger brother? Why not place blame where it really lies...... on the suspects who committed the acts of terror resulting in the loss of 3 lives and causing injuries, physical as well as mental and emotional for thousands more. WHAT A COMPLETE UTTER M-O-R-O-N!!!!!!!!!!! I agree.... what a complete waste of an education. I think if I were one of her students, I would drop her class.

I wonder what she would have done if they were shooting at her??? I guess she thinks you can talk murders into giving up when you are being shot at....I think Boston PD, FBI and all Law Enforcement did a great job...They are the HEROS in this...They got the job done quickly...Use of Force is equal to the Use of Force being used...So they were right on the money with their Use of Force....

I don't even understand her argument nor why anyone would consider her opinion important. This is most definitely not in her "wheelhouse".

More often than not, use of force is scrutinized by those who lack experience in law enforcement to make a judgment dictated by reason!

Most people here do not find this unusual. Employees of universities that surround themselves with books containing theroies have a real hard time with real situations full of uncontrolled conditions and circumstances that require actions then and there. And they fail to realize that the bad guy dictates the level of force needed to subdue said bad guy.

Sadly, all of that education and this "person" can't understand that the premise that we in law enforcement will approach force with force. Did this professor fail to see the human damage that they caused, the innocents that died and so many others injured, FOR LIFE!
My hats off and deepest respect to our brothers and sisters that responded to the Boston bombing!

I believe the correct amount of force was used. Did anyone else think that there might have been additional explosives? Worst thing one can do is to underestimate one's opponent! -- Doc

She says we used too much force and yet doesn't realize officers will use whatever force is necessary to take people into custody. Had they given themselves up without shooting at the LEOs and throwing bombs at them no force would have been used. Let's also remember that the LEOs are the ones who rendered first aid to both of them after they were taken into custody. I just love how Professors who have never been involved with Law Enforcement and more than likely would never do a ride along knows how Law Enforcement should react in a situation...

Obviously, she has no clue what she's talking about. I'm sure the folks in Boston and Watertown have no problem with the way the search was handled. AND, Law Enforcemnt responded to active aggression from both the night the first suspect died.

If you happen to see the photo she's referring to of the older brother, the gash in his side is from a "thorocotomy". As far as his discoloration, I dunno. They did say he had burns from an explosion.

What a friggen idiot! I'd like to see how she would have reacted if it were her kids and/or family lying in the streets with shrapnel in their bodies.

Law enforcement did an excellent job. Quick action and they removed the threat. Dito BigNTS.
