scorpiokiss, You're not alone! I despise people who abuse any types of animals and people who give pits bad reputation. Though I've never owned one, I am a big dog lover and had never had a bad encounter with a pit in person. I truly believe they are good, loving dogs with no mean bones in their bodies unless they've been abused, trained and forced to act as such. I even did a term paper about the BSL laws in college once and "educated" my Comp professor lol. Hope there will be a day in the near future where the laws will change to protect these innocent animals and their abusers doing more serious time and paying steeper fees when they break the law.

call me overemotional but i cry almost every time i read these stories. there is NO EXCUSE for this what so ever. he should be hung by his gonads and if he survives that, court ordered permanently from never owning a dog again. anyone smart enough to read up on the breed know's that these dog's weren't meant to be aggressive. it's the people who own them that force the dog to be that way. 2 years ago, i had a former neighbor who picked up his female blue pit over his head and threw her on the floor because she wasn't agressive. i was lied to and told she injured herself by jumping off the couch while playing with the cat. i'm no einstein but even i could tell that the injury was too extensive for "jumping off the couch." i actually caught him outside during the summer getting ready to do it again til i stopped him and yelled to put her down or i was calling the cops and animal control. to my knowledge, he's never done it again.

Hope they will do some prison time. Unfortunately, it won't be long enough due to the laughable animal cruelty laws.
