If you know anything about firearms,and look at the picture you can tell it is a .22 LR caliber fifle, look at the inserted mag and you can see that is is for 22 LR bullets not a .223 caliber.
I betcha this guy has engaged in some type of useless internet argument and someone reported his pic. Although I think this kid may be a little too young to own his own weapon, I don't find anything wrong with ACTIVE parents teaching their kids how to safely handle a weapon, and using it for self protection should be the last resort and not the first. Leave the guy alone, Child services probably are following protocol, but they have much better things to investigate imo.
