The only pictures I've seen were stills of surveillance video. I just did a google search and found none that he took. Pleas provide the link. The surveillance video was released by the gun dealer prior to Kelly admitting to the purchase. Well........
He took pictures of himself filling out the paperwork. He did this to be discrete, mmmm? To not garner attention? He was trying to get away with something?
Am I speaking English? Hello?
LonnaNJ. You are right Mr. Kelly is a gun owner/collector. He decided to buy an AR 15 and a 1911 pistol. No problem with that. Then when he got called out he went with this I want to show how easy it is to by an assault weapon nonsense. Yea It's easy he's over 21 and is a law abiding citizen. What's the point??? I believe he simply wanted the weapon and was exercising his constitutionally protected right to do so. The problem came in when he got called out. I guess you will call me names now too?? And yes mz66 I can live with that. Why couldn't I??
Look here--if you want to cast doubt on his point, that's one thing (Thanks, C--point taken).
On the other hand, the whole suggestion that he's lying is ludicrous and says more about the people making the suggestion than anything else. If you can live with that, that's your business.
Captain Mark Kelly is an intelligent man, good husband and is due our respect. I disagree mmmm, Kelly already stated he was a gun owner even before the purchase. As a matter of fact, he said both him and his wife support gun ownership, as I DO. I'm rushing to get something done, but I will provide a link.
When sane people need to get something done, they debate the pro's and cons, they reach across the table,, they compromise.
Don't know what his point is, after all his wife was not shot with an 'assault rifle' just a Glock that so many LEO's carry as off duty weapons and many law abiding citizens carry for self or home protection. Maybe he could buy an SUV to show how easy that is, as so many peiople are killed by drunks in all kinds of motor vehicles.
Two nuts,Arizona Massacre's Jared loughner and Alex Jones-
"Got caught"? Excuse me? He posted the photo of himself filling out the paperwork. Does this not suggest he's telling the truth? Please use reason.
Let's see. He made his purchases BEFORE he appeared before congress. Yet no mention then? He only came out after this information was published by right wing bloggers. Hmmm. Me thinks he is telling a fib. Feel free to disagree.
Captain Kelly admits to being a gun owner as well as a supporter of the Constitution, those words came out of his very own mouth during a meeting at the white house about a month ago. That said, I take him at his word that this was a 'dummy' purchase with a point. The point is the loop holes/Gun Shows ect.
It boggles me how so many people equate those wanting background checks and mental health evals to prevent guns from being used for what they were not intended for (a head scratcher there) and spin it into some Liberal socialist plot with a Stalin Tyrannical appeal. Of course one should have a 'healthy' fear of government, unlike the guy who kidnapped a 5 year old for days and kept him in his underground anti-tyranny bunker-Another prolific listener of Conservative talk radio.
@Jar6489, you mentioned that you didn't trust Captain Kelly b/c he's a politician or involved in Politics. Let's talk about that. So I'm guessing this had nothing to with his wife taking a bullet to the head by a kid that was heavy into Conservative Talk Radio? Or how bout an association that 'rates' politicians on their soft sell of their products-It's all about the money honey.
He is involved in politics...that is why.
I just don't get why people have trouble taking him at his word. This is an honorable man who served his country in the US Navy and later as a pilot and commander in NASA's space shuttle program.
I think he was telling the truth about his intent on finding out how easy and fast one can get their grubby paws on an assault rifle. He found out that he has to go through a background check and then wait 20 days. However, I am questioning his truthfulness on whether or not he will actually turn the gun over to the police "eventually." I bet he keeps it for a long time...for self defense! LOL
Why can't people even be bothered to read one paragraph of the article before spouting venom?
I throw the BS flag on this one. He got caught and now he's trying to polish a piece of feces.
