Alcoholism has ruined more marriages and careers than any other legal or illegal drug.
The article did not state that he had committed a second offense after his reinstatement. The article stated that subsequent to his termination, the appeal filed and won by Saunders that got him reinstated was appealed and won by the commission that originally fired him.
Very sad! However it should be remembered that alcholism is a disease, and the stress of Police work may have caused the relapse. At least I will bet that is what his attorney will say!
I have known several alchoholic officers over the years! I hope he gets the help he needs!
