Do you suppose the female who runs thia rag will be so kind as to print her name and address,on a map in her rag?Not likely is it Ms. Hyprocrite? What do you bet she worships abortion also,as well as hating cops and military.I would relish seeing her business in bankruptcy.
I can't do anything but agree with all of th comments I've read so far, I can't really add anything you all haven't already said very well. It is laughable, very much so. No law abiding citzen is going to storm the news paper, yet they feel the need to utilze the 2nd Amendment to protect their worthless hides.
I do hope the firm that they hired gives them an ear full about the reality of firearms use by responsible persons from the Military, to Federal, State and Local Agencies to Businesses that offer executive protection and Armed Security to the Law Abiding private citizen. And they next time they feel free to violate other's rights, perhaps they will remember that when concerned about their own personal rights as well the next time.
I would say a class action law suit as the personal information of thousands in the State of New York were released, putting the safety of all of them at great risk.
Karma. One cannot escape fear. I hope those responsible on the permit publication are looking over their shoulders. They righted their wrong after the damage was done. Low life.
Within the bounds of the law does not include doing so at the risk of public safety. They twisted the law NY State Freedom of Information Act), disguising it as their right to free speech to suit their needs at the time. In doing so, they put the general public safety of those individuals, many of whom are police officers, at risk. I said it before and will say it again. The news media, paper, TV or inter-net, has a responsibility to REPORT the news...... NO to CREATE the news. This was RECKLESS and IRRESPONSIBLE journalism.
They have no legal recourse in this case. The newspaper was within the bounds of the law at the time they did this. They were not in the bounds of good taste or good citizen, though.
An apparent anti-gun/anti-2nd Amendment newspaper which hides behind the 1st Amendment in justifying their publishing the names of law abiding 2nd Amendment gun owners, now uses the 2nd Amendment in hiring armed guards to protect them.
What goes around / comes around and while I wish no violence towards them, I do wish that all the law abiding gun owners who had their privacy violated by the the publishing of their information seek appropriate legal/civil recourse, and that all law abiding citizens/readers of this newspaper protest what happened by seeking an alternative news source and discontinue any subscriptions or purchasing of this newspaper.
While all should benefit from the 1st Amendment and the right to Free Speech, the same as all should benefit from the 2nd Amendment and the right to Bear Arms, there are limits on both to include the right to privacy of one's personal information from being published...
This is old news. Someone has since posted an article on here stating the newspaper removed the information from their website--not to do the right thing, but to comply with the new permit privacy measures that are part of the gun control legislation that was just recently passed in NY.

Totally in agreement with you SkoolCop--perhaps a case could be made in a civil lawsuit.
