Reasonable grounds for a class action suit of epic proportions. Not merely the nuisance of 'ruining quiet enjoyment' but the tort of causing ongoing anxiety and fear in the suffering of both gun-owner households and non-gun owner households whose Castle Doctrine-related security has been breached. For who among those so victimized can now claim to feel safe in their homes?
The Journal News could have done no worse in issuing a formal public invitation to criminals to wreak chaos within the borders of a particular sector. I'm sure the local police department will also register its disapproval.
The irony of the "Gun Safe" maybe it's time for an upgrade?? NO, I don't think it's the owners fault, and am stilling trying to wrap my head around the purpose of the Newspaper posting homeowners PERSONAL business in it!.
I agree with skool, looks like a class-action suit may be needed, Sue them!
Publish information about people that are obeying the law. Wow, penalized and held for public ridicule for doing what is required of you? I'm glad logical, fair and sensible reporting is alive and well. Freedom of the press remains untouched but Right to bear arms is attacked.
Publish the names, addresses, and phone #'s of all involved in the publishing of the permit holders information and see how they like it! States need tighten their privacy laws so this never happens again and all legal remedies need to be pursued for the publishers and the violations of privacy and the dangers the careless publishing has put the permit holders in...
A class action suit against the news paper company that is creating a situation that puts the safety and lives of the public at risk is in order. Freedom of speech comes with a responsibility. Just because the information is available to them and they can put it to print....... doesn't mean that they should.

The freedom of the press .in this country has always been extended way too far.Tantamount to screaming "fire" in a crowded movie theater.
