If you follow gun safety rules and treat all firearms as if they are loaded, you avoid accidental/negligent discharges. You also avoid the monumentous title of an ignoramus.

More proof that some sort of test to make sure you're not an imbecile should be required before you can legally purchase a firearm.
What kind of an I-D-I-O-T cleans or attempts to clean a loaded firearm and it doesn't occur to the fool that something bad can happen?
1.Does it sound reasonable he would be cleaning his gun when he has guests visiting?2.Does it seem reasonable he would invite the guests in the same room when he was cleaning said weapon?? 3.Does not a prudent person empty a weapon of its contents prior to cleaning?Should at least be charged with feloneous IGNORANCE
Must yhave been a "two fer One Day" Uh Hu !Sounds as though they stood in a line to watch him clean his weapon----I'm not saying it couldn't happen.??UH UH !---I'm reminded of a case,many years ago in my city when I was an officer.A woman was charged with murder for killing her husband.Her defense was it was an accidental discharge.She was found "Not Guilty", in a jury trial.The problem with this decision was,"He was shot five times.Yep ,five accidental discharges???Go figure.....
