Our thoughts and prayers go out to these officers' families, friends, and colleagues at this difficult time. Our agency also lost two deputies when their chopper crashed while on return from search for a serial rapist back in 1992.
All of these men were performing their duties for the sake of the public, and paid the ultimate price serving & protecting...Rest in Peace, brothers
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL involved.
R.I.P., Heroes. I recall my [late] dear friend and high schooll classmate - - he was a radio broadcaster, had a cooperative arrangement with Richmond [VA] PD, and the station's copter served well as a volunteer platform to observe and communicate with our PD. The aircraft suffered a sudden catastrophic mechanical failure and fell into a house - killed all on board, burned the house. Lucky, there were no injuries to on-ground personnel. Stuff happens.
The N.T.S.B. and F.A.A. way too often declare pilot err when it is questionable. On my job we had three chopper pilots who were all Vietnam War vets. One flew a Cobra gubship, one a dust off and the other a Huey, and they knew their business inside and out as I'm certain the deceased did. Thanks for your service my brothers. My condolences and prayers to those left behind.
RIP Brothers !
Very sad :-( My thoughts and prayers going out to their families and dept.
