I guess I picked the right side of the justice system to get a job...cause I just don't understand the legal justification for his winning that case. Jail is supposed to be a punishment for transgression against society's rules. If he wants a change, he should pay for it (that's the way it would be if he wasn't a criminal!). I can see if the ruling was that it would be "inhumane" to deny him the ability to get the surgery...but to say we have to pay for it too?

If they want to change their genders simply give them a rusty razor blade and have them do it themselves. No taxpayer money needed. I am certain the good citizens of that state will donate the razor's for free.
