The police are a reflection of the community they serve...plain and simple. Says a lot when they are being charged rather than just resigning but if you look at the cases they are all being charged by outside agencies. MPD needs to step up and make their officers responsible for thier actions.
Sounds like they treat their Officers the same as everyone else an they root out bad officers and arrest them. That is the other side of the cion or way to look at it. When you lower the hiring standards, this is what happens, simple as that.
Does MPD really expect to have the confidence, trust, and most of all respect of the citizens?
A review of professionalism standards and then a clear discipline policy for violating those standards needs to be created and enforced...
Who is responsible for doing the psyc and/ or background checks on these people.
with that many bad apples, I bet the majority of the citizens in Memphis suspect that everyone of the officers are crooks. Sounds like they need a new chief and crack the whip!!!!!!!
this is nuts
