I can see shooting the guy as you do have the 15' rule but there were a lot of Officers there and hitting him 46 times is a bit of overkill especially when many of the shots seem to have been fired after the guy went down. This is an unfortunate result of poor training. New or the younger Officers trained with semi-auto handguns tend to fire away until the gun is empty which in many cases is about 15 rounds! Unfortunately there was no taser available as that may have worked or some other form of non-lethal weaponry and saved his life. I have no problem with the initial shooting per se but the number of rounds does seem to be over the top.

I don't mean to question the officers or their training, but I'm just saying that 46 shots is a lot for someone with a knife. Again, that's just my opinion. I don't mean to insult anyone on here or the officers.
