I agree Iowa and it sounds like a good anecdote, but Animal Cruelty is not a Felony in Every state and in the states it's a felony, Now image when it gets dropped down to 'counseling'. http://www.pet-abuse.com/pages/cruelty_laws.php
Touchy Subject, however.........
The bad rap myth originates:
~Bad ownership, Good Owners that are clueless to dog behavior + actual incidents
~Dogs head is big, twas a Pit Myth-constantly misidentified and mistaken with 33-35 other breeds.
~Journalistic needs for shock media, never seen the dog, reiterates 'Pit Bull'-gets narly pit pic from www
~The 100 lbs APBT anomaly. Maybe a Mastif, Corso, Bull Dog Mix, but at that weight it's over twice the size of an APBT, Bull Terrier, and plus 29-31 lbs bigger then the Amstaff. (the 3 PB type of Dogs)
~People lie for cred, Saying the dog was a Collie is about as exciting as the guy that does the Viagra commercials.
The officers did what they had to do, one officer only tased. I hope they are OK and Good Job of getting the rifle off the street and the guys in jail, guess they'll know how it feels to be in a crate for 24 hours a day.
Please encourage Spay and Neutering-Then you suggests they do the same with their animals. lot

"They also seized 10 dogs from the residence, including one that bit an officer. One of the “numerous” pit bulls in the home was shot and another had a stun gun used on it after the dogs attacked the agents when they entered."
-- Can they be charged with cruelty to animals (because the dogs had POS for owners)? And they wonder why pit bulls get bad raps (no pun intended).
