How about it being a NON-issue. Point, blank, done.

Lets stop making this a ethnic issue and make it a NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE.

Oh My Gosh, it never ends........McCain has seriously disappointed me on this, he has taken the wrong side on the issue....PERIOD. I am not going to get into it further. There is nothing wrong with looking into a persons position and clearance a little further when information comes to light that there may be a security problem. Happens all the time to all kinds of people that have clearances. If all checks out.....fine, If not, then it is dealt with. Failure to bring information to light and have a check done is careless and dangerous to our national security no matter WHO IT IS. I am sick of people bending over backwards to be politically correct because a person may have some muslim like name, skin color, religious connection.....etc. I am offended by the lax attitude toward people and them getting a free pass because of possible muslim connection. I could care less what her name is, what religion she is or what color her skin is......She is involved in the government and is open to very sensitive material. If there is even a REMOTE POSSIBILITY of a security issue then it SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED!! PERIOD!!!! What is wrong with that? If I was in that position I would expect to be looked at closely, especially given family ties with not so nice people. If it is investigated and she is cleared then so be it! Been a while mz.......have ya missed me? lol........BTW I like Palin!!

Agreed, Steven. Thanks for reminding me--I was going to bring that up yesterday: does McCain's alleged lack of commitment to the GOP base change the fact that what he said was spot on? Nope.

I guess I have to spell it out for some folks:

Dave compared McCain's waffling to Clinton's and made some remarks that implied this somehow had a negative impact on his electability. Since Clinton was elected to the highest office of the land not once, but twice, then that argument seems rather specious.

    Reading is hard, I know.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Clinton was elected twice. :)

Matt ,my friend. We Republicans are quite cognizant that Democrats and Liberals have always adored McCain. This is due to the fact that we too are aware that he is a loose cannon who could be defeated by anybody in any presidential race.He and "Slick Willie Clinton" share the title of "King of the Waffler."Each day as he awakes he is faced with the painful decision of wearing his Conservative,Liberal,Democrat or Republican persona.

'fraid so--I actually was considering McCain. The day he announced Palin I heard a collective "What, are you serious?" echoing around the world. I am not alone, either.

Yeak ok matt. McCain had about as much of a chance to garner your vote as a nut has a chance of getting away from a hungry squirrel. Serious contender vs. the pretender? Hardly.

Are you kidding me? McCain was a serious contender until that nitwit Palin joined his ticket.

Franken is a liberal....not a Dem. The funny and ironic thing about this article is that liberals point their collective fingers and say "see, see John McCain is saying this!"because he is saying something about one of theirs. NOW they want to listen to McCain.....4 years too late. wOw
