If the Sheriff is going to make concession for his friends he needs to make sure everybody else can do the same. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander as they say. He will not be Sheriff for long after that.

The deputy should have arrested the sheriff for obstructing and taken them both to jail. I see charges in the sheriff's future.

The Deputy was right and the Sheriff was wrong. The Deputy is a Law Enforcement Officer, the Sheriff is a Politician, that should explain that. The Sheriff needs to be removed by the Gov. and a new election held in that county for a new Sheriff. The Governor needs to appoint an interim Sheriff until the next election.

From what I heard and read, the Sheriff was way out of line. I commend the deputies for standing up for what's right and not backing down. I would expect the sheriff's resignation as well.
