Great job saving the Troopers life. Times like these should make us to be proud that we are part of a great brotherhood. All of us from Sheriff's Deputy, Police Officers, State Troopers, should feel honored to work with each other and assist. My prayers and thoughts go out to the injured Trooper.

We do need to keep the Trooper in our prayers as his injuries are serious and painful. He broke his legs and probably some ribs as well but his foot that was trapped was crushed pretty badly and also burned as the steel that was trapping his foot was starting to glow red before they were able to free him. We have some great Doc's in the Upstate and I wish the Trooper well. He is one of ours and we do not turn our back on them.
I went to the SCCJA in 1975 Basic X and yes there was a rivalry between the State and the others I thought of it as a friendly one and we did always work together in the Greenville/Pickens/Spartenburg/Anderson/Laurens area All the Upstate Officers often saw each other and always supported each other.

This is truly our Lord at work through these men. The thoughts that were going through all of them men involved and the Trooper himself is truly the reality officers must face in a moment of crisis. The sergeant stated he did not want to watch his BROTHER die; and without thought or question utilized instinct and training they overcame the odds and performed at peak performance and self-sacrificed themselves into giving this Trooper many more years to protecting and serving his state! Hoo Rah gentlemen and God Bless you so much. As for the Trooper God truly loves you and I know he will mend your wounds, and tend to your every need in order to make a full recovery. Hang tough and never give up, I pray for a speedy recovery for you and for your family as well as they are grieving in their own way!

Congratulations to these 3 officers. I don't know if things have changed since I went to the academy in SC many years ago, but I hope the attitudes and policies have changed where Troopers were taught and led to believe starting at the academy that they are above and better than all other officers in the state. I love being able to post stories like this about the unselfish bravery our Officers display. these three City Officers risked their own lives to help pull a badly injuried trooper from his crashed and burning patrol car. I know we would do this for others but when it is one of our own, trust me it is personal. Fortunately these brave Officers were able to keep the flames at bay long enough to pull his foot free and then remove him from his upside down and burning patrol car through the rear window and get him to safety just as his unit burst into flames. Our Brother from the State would have certainly died had it not been for the bravery of those three Officer, two of whom knew the Trooper personally. Congratulations guys, you made me proud and showed everyone what a professional you are.
