Hard to follow the news account. Who was the teen who started the party, Who is Martinez and who is the other Martinez or are they the same? Why didn't they ask the coach to take him home? Why didn't the coach take him home or does he know know where his home is at and took him to where he was directed thinking he would get the proper help there? Too many questions need to be answered.
I can understand the Mother wanting to blame someone, anyone as she has just lost her son. Her son is the person who must take responsibility as well as the Mother who did not teach her child not to drink. Also his friends at the party are also partly to blame for not stopping him from drinking too much. Plenty of blame to go around but the coach is the least to blame for the young man's death. He and the school do have the deepest pockets though and if this is the reason she is blaming them, then she is a really sorry Mom if she is looking for a payout. She needs to mourn her sons death and yes even lecture others about the danger of using alcohol. Turn his tragic death into something good.

The boy who threw the party is at fault, the coach for not getting this kid the medical help he needed to live is at fault, both civil and criminal.

Tragic story but why start blaming people?
