This issue has to be addressed at a federal level because the feds came down on Arizona for doing what they needed to do. Texas is doing what the feds want by asking for help. The feds can sit back and do nothing and get away with it. If Texas does take action because the feds wont then the feds can come down on Texas for taking action. Obummer and his admin will not do anythig to help, they are to busy joining Mexico in a lawsuit against Arizona. I just can't believe there are people out there that still believe in this president. As soon as a president joins a foreign country against one of our own states that president should be thrown out of office. Besides, The current president and his admin are to busy making us a socialist country with their eluitist thoughts that they should be making decisions for us, not protecting us from foreign invasion. And please stop the PC garbage with "undocumented"....they are ILLEGAL ALIENS.....PERIOD!! If the feds don't want to secure the border, then tell the state they are not going to help and stay out of the states business when they take action to protect their citizens and state.

I meant match another ones productivity. At times when we had many illegals employed(thanks to HR), I did notice that those were mostly the ones making it ontime, working overtime, and more productive. Stealing kind of counteracts these good deeds though. Now that proper documentation is Mandatory, and actually checked, it's time for Managers to be Leaders and Coaches and work with the Legal documented unstimulated workers. IMO, No one is going to want to cross a border illegally, if you take away the prospect of them being employed

Amen and bump tp mz66 as to his post from three hours ago.Undocumented immigration IS a huge problem. It is so due to the obvious fact thast it began a couple of generations ago and was intentionally NOT nipped in the bud.I believe we honest individuals from both sides of the political fence are cognizant as to why.One political party relishes the cheap labor while the other major political party enjoys the masses voting for them due to their blatent "Give Away" programs. The pols.ergo, are in seventh heaven while the working class foots the bill due to hundreds of billions in additional health care, education and incarceration. It is a hot button issue which the clueless and gutless will not touch ,nor take the blame for.It would be difficult ,if not impossible to cease.

LonnaNJ: forgive me, but can you explain what "pair up" means in this context?

It's Managements fault when legal documented staff don't pair up to the Illegal staffed.

Answering Mz66 do some off the Legals staffed pair up to the Legals. I would have to say no, BUT their living conditions i.e. Paterson, Newark, West New York and other urban areas cause them to be a little desperate and often Steal. I've dropped off Clothes to one, she worked her behind off but if you seen her apartment you couldn't help but be a little sympathetic. Yes, I took a course Spanish for Managers, but my choice would be someone LEGAL. The woman I spoke of has been Terminated for a couple years now b/c of stringent documentation plan put forth by pressured employer.

ajs: Also, I would never claim that undocumented immigrants aren't breaking the law. Undocumented immigration is a huge problem and our approach so far has been like trying to eat Jel-lo with chopsticks (sorry, just kinda pulled that one out of the air--have a better one?). Focusing on the ones who are ALSO committing OTHER crimes is better than just throwing your hands in the air and and letting the chips fall where they may.

ajs: As you said, I'm not LE--so I cannot comment on most of your last statement. However, regarding "Is there a reason to NOT post them on our very own?", see my post below about federal troops vs. guard troops.

LonnaNJ: Of course. Not every segment will reflect the whole. Do citizens or lawful immigrants want those jobs, though? Are they qualified? Are they good, hard-working people? I'm not saying nobody else wants these jobs--but consider that possibility. I know up in my area (rural NY--dairy farms, corn, wheat, apples, squash, etcetera) they couldn't stay in business if they couldn't hire immigrants...and nobody else I know wants to mix the silage mounds. I do not know the status of the immigrants, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that some of them are undocumented.

Deportation RECORD?!?!? MZ, for the sake of fairness, I will admit you are not affiliated in any way in enforcing the laws of any city, county, state, or on the federal level. Here is the reason why I say it, not to belittle you BUT illegal immigration affects anyone who puts on a vest and uniform everyday. THis issue is beyond political as it affects every single serving member on this site. How many times has one of us pulled over a vehicle carelessly driving down the road with an illegal driving without insirance or for that matter havibg the simple decency to attempt to get a driver's license? How many of us have responded to a domestic violence situation in which the male party had been drinking so heavily he cannot stand (but stood long enough to bloody up his wife) and nobody speaks English? This does not just pertain to Mexican nationals but it pertains to pretty musch all races. Here locally we have a large contingent of Burmese who are attempting to claim political asylum, all the while drinking it up and beating the bejeezus out of their spouses. What is funny about the deportation numbers of the obama administration is the fact that we should have this problem in the first place. It's not all about this administration, nor the previous, nor the previous, etc etc. What the problem is, is that these people come across the border, it is extremely problematic, and nobody seems to want to grow a pair large enough to put the military on the borders of various states in order to stem the tide. Since obama is currently in charge he is going to have the finger pointed at him. He IS the commander in chief isn't he? Heck we have had troops stationed on S. Korea's border for how many years now? Is there a reason to NOT post them on our very own? Illegal immigration is a problem that is systemic. Deportations should be increased to not only include those who have criminal records but for those who should not be here in the first darn place. Look at Title 1 Section 1325 of the US Code, it explains explicitly that entering the country illegally is a FEDERAL crime. Saying that various governors should place their respective National Guard troops to guard their own borders is a farce since federal law trumps state, except in this upside down universe created by their ultimate commander in chief.

Were looking at the Border, but even in NJ i can look in my backyard and see part of the problem with Immigration.

Also--better the National Guard than federal troops. Citizens take a dim view of federal troops being used on the homeland. Guard troops, on the other hand, are theoretically from the area and are less likely to be looked upon with distrust by the community.

Chiming in on Illegals. At venues I've worked a good way for a Supv or Manager to have a ton of grief or even lose or want to quit their job, was simply to Write-Up an Illegal for insubordination such as stealing. THEY WERE UNIONIZED, yes all three to four names they flip flopped in and out with! My employment in these venues started in 2000, I couldn't be an effective Manager then, h3ll I was more like Security! I must say wether coincidence or whatever, mid Obama Admin. we went from almost a third staff of illegals (out of about 2,700 staffies) to I'm guessing 50ish whom I'm only certain one is are actually illegal. Gotta call it like I see it, and Same girl(a legal) in HR who began her employ before me, hint.... hint.......

"...and certainly n0ot[sic] against those that they think may be able to become future voters like the illegals..."

Sorry--that does not hold water. In 2011, ICE under Obama's leadership set a new record for deportations of undocumented immigrants. I also seriously doubt the other statements regarding the NBP or other groups. I'd be happy to find documentation on that, as well--if called out on it.
