YW ssu459, she became known worldwide. I'm hoping a message comes out of her demise about being cautious about the ramifications caused by mixing prescription meds and alcohol. I think people have the mindset, "well a doctor prescribed it, so it safe." NOT, it's "controlled" (the irony of that word) for a reason.
My best guess (and initial guess) was that she may have been abusing both. Whitney has a Foundation for kids, and it would be nice if that foundation can incorporate a message to all kids warning them about the Dangers of Alcohol/Scripts. Perscription Meds is becoming the New high for young adults, and Teens purposely will "act out" to get them prescribed. Some will take left over scripts their parents leave around. I talk to teens a lot, and I kid you not. Hopefully her death will serve as some message or warning to others. Travel Well Whitney.
Whatever the cause of death may be,tis still such a shame. One never knows what demons another may carry.I shall not judge her. Thanks for the links you have rendered to us Lonna.I appreciate the positive aspects of this star's life.
UPDATE: 2/13/201- Whitney Houston's Death(as reported by TMZ)-A combination of Prescription XANAX/ALCOHOL/DROWNING.
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/02/whitney_houston_died_from_...
I ruled out Crack/Cocaine/Herion when I first heard about her death, b/c she seemed to be attempting to get her life back in order and getting back into Gospel after her seperation with ex husband Bobby Clown(Brown). Unfortunately Alcohol and these Scripts are Just as Deadly, may she rest in peace. Mitch Winehouse who's daughter Jewish Songstress Amy Winehouse died of Alcohol Poisoning at 27 in the Summer of 2011(she was like a young Etta James, I kid you not) Gave His Condolences to the Houston Family. Alcohol Kills Folks, Maybe Pyschiatrist need to look a bit deeper to see if their patients are abusing alcohol, just a thought.
i read somewhere a long time ago that Whitney's beautiful pipes were trained in church choir where she learned to soar her astonishing voice on up and out and across the congregation to lift the spirit of all. Who among us has not been moved by "I Will Always Love You"?
Drugs and spousal abuse - a deadly combination that can break a spirit. A spirit broken in the spotlight. We lost our bright star Whitney a long time ago.
LonnaNJ, Thanks for the link, Hearing her sing the Star Spangled Banner brought tears to my eyes. I love the fact that, unlike a lot of singers, she sung it like iit was meant and did not try to make it her own version, the lady had class. Another thing about her I will miss about her is her true talent. She was one of the few.....very few..... singers that if you saw her live you could close your eyes and swear it was a recording. Whitney did not need a recording studio to sound perfect, it was natural.....as mentioned by many others, sadly you could see it comiing and what a waste. RIP Whitney
Bump Robo, the autopsy reports come out later. I(for some reason) think a prescribed drug or someone elses is going to be part of the Toxicology Report. I dunno, I just have this feeling it's a cocktail of things?? Really Upsetting.

YW Cooper, It teared me up too :(
Glad you enjoyed it, even happier to watch the troops in the audience enjoying the concert.

This woman was given a true gift from God with that beautiful voice and she ended up throwing it all away for drugs. What a horrible shame.

True, it's a shame. Sorry to sound like a jerk, but it was only a matter of time.
