My bad I ment PROSECUTE, I stand corrected thank you SIR. Top_ Cat don't put everybody in TSA down because of some bad apples, every department has them.
Some police officers are just as bad, helping drug dealers, taking bribes from criminals. Just because one knuckle head done a crime at TSA Top_Cat you want the government should shut down the whole department. Any body who has a job dealing with the public trust police, security, prison and tsa who is committing crime should be persecuted more severe then your average criminal cause they should know better.
I remember that incident Tim, disgraceful! The TSA agents are NOT LEOs and we have at least a couple of our Congressmen trying to get rid of them or at least take away their "Badges", and Titles and everything else that implies that they are anything but very lowly security guards. There are those TSA people who are good folks and work hard and with integrity but they seem to be the exception with most of them being thieves, immature, pig-headed, egotistical Law Enforcement wanna-bes. The TSA needs to be disbanded and start over as people who work for the individual airport or a private security firm with serious background checks and training as well as ongoing training. The TSA claims that they 'discover' a firearm every five hours of every day. Not only do I not believe that, I also know that they count those people who try and turn a forgotten weapon in otr ask them to store it somehow or if there is a way it can get transported to their destination. They also count any and all 'tests' that the FAA or Homeland Security perform when they catch them. Unconfirmed reports that they only discover 3 out of 5 in those 'tests'
TC is probably correct that this TSA guy thought it was drug or illegal money and he could take it and they would not report the loss.
