    Great news!!! I do hope this rotten economy turns around quickly and their salaries aren't paid via a grant or 10 soon. Twenty nine back by February 1 is better than none.

    Small step in right direction. 29 back from 160 in very large department. Grants have to be backed by long term plan. In a tough economic shift hoping decisions about priorties is more focused on law enforcement system needs.

    Great Post Lonna, Thank You This is Good News! Praise the LORD!,,,, Personally I'll never understand why any LEO"S would ever need to be Laid-Off or Firemen for that matter, Budget cuts My (_y_),,,, There are many other area's to make cuts other than Protection!,,, Just goes to show just how messed up this World has become.

    ~oh my. I'll pray for the best, Newark NJ Needs this.

    That New Prudential Center(the Roc-Devils Arena) is supposed to be generating some pretty good revenues, will check this out, and how the money generated from this arena helps out the city.

    WELCOME BACK and Kudos TO 29 OF NEWARK'S FINEST REHIRED. PREVIOUSLY there where 167 LEOs stripped from their badges b/c of budget Cuts under the old Police DIrector Mc Carthy{Now Moved to another Venue}
    THE RESIDENTS (and SURROUNDING residents) are jubilant and contended that you will be back on DUTY Shortly in this Small City overrun and inundated by Villainous Gangs Member, Prolific Assaults, Carjackings at GUNPOINT. Children Shot(as young as two years old) and the conventional daily shots fired, DRUG Wars and the almost 100 Homicides per year that included a lot of people not affiliated with crime at all .
    That said 10-8 Code!
    Watch your Back, Watch your Brothers Back.
    BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS, WELCOME BACK MEN AND WOMAN!!!!

    Great news for the officers who are able to come back to work. Hopefully, work has already begun on the grant that will keep them working when the current grant expires.
