The Judge is making excuses for his 'special treatment' that he provided to this individual. The criminal BELONGS in prison. Maybe the Judge should have asked or found out WHY he was beaten within an inch of his life. He couldn't even get along with others behind bars so why did he think he would obey the laws outside with freedom restored?
