Unless you live, or have lived, out there you have no idea how illegal immigration affects everything; crime, drugs, and jobs. I lived in Nevada for 6 years and it was a nightmare.

Yawn! Here we go again! Politics and BS, I like Joe's thinking and ways. But I don’t know all his motivations or political back door @rap. Illegal is illegal, and the way the man or woman be it reb or dem manipulates us is pathetic! Yet, we continue down the path of emotions that pit the little person against each other! I have no idea why Bush started this against Joe and no idea why the President won't stop it! This BS is echelons above my pay grade. The last time I checked a Sheriff is one of the top law enforcement officers of a county and not the state, is Arizona different? Vote you’re conscious as I will in the upcoming election! P.S. Robo says: “The reason why is because he wants and NEEDS the votes from these illegals”. Robo the same statement can be applied to BUSH for initiating this against Joe! Can any discussion stay on topic; are we talking about Joe or healthcare? There is a discussion for that, go there!

Sheriff Joe may win small battles but they won't allow him to win the war to protect his state. If they have to, they will set him up just to take him down. Obviously he is interfering with the BIG PLAN and he needs to be eliminated. Nice to know there is a Sheriff with some brass balls instead of malt balls.

Illlegals are illegal and this issue needs to be addressed. How much damn dope comes acrss the border by illegals. Let clean it up; but we have to play it straight. Too much is at stake to make professional mistakes; it stops us from being able to do the job.

snhadley, if it is such a cluster, then why doesn't Obama simply stop it? The reason why is because he wants and NEEDS the votes from these illegals. I know they are not supposed to vote but that doesn't mean they don't and influence many other Hispanics. Quite often in States with a majority of people of Hispanic origins who are here legally because they followed the rules for legal immigration these who are of Hispanic origins also want the illegals tossed out on their ear. THEY came here legally and think the illegals should have to obey the rules like they did.

the_ANTIDRUG. is trying to blame THIS on Bush as well? Frankly one of those things that I disagreed with President Bush on was how important it is to stop the flow of illegals from coming in. The US Constitution says that the Federal Government is supposed to protect our Borders but nowhere does it say that the States cannot also protect their borders. As the Feds are not doing what they are supposed to, then there is no law saying that the States cannot enforce those laws. In fact, the Sheriff IS the highest power in this land still and is the main power of legal enforcement in the USA. If a Sheriff wants, he can kick the Feds out of his jurisdiction. The only thing that he MUST comply with are the civil rights that the US Constitution provides it's citizens. That is the reason they are going after him for 'civil rights'. It IS political, period!

I would like to know the ratio of Latin to White to Black in the area and see just how many arrested are ILLEGAL........Really, how many come from other countries that live that close to the MEXICAN Border.....?And are not Hispanic.........
