It is and was only fitting that he was honored as a LODD. He was in uniform and he was doing his job and even acting as a MPD Officer should have acted in this emergency. Retired Officer Furr died a hero representing MPD. As has been said, they did not know he was retired. He was to the killers a Police Officer.
BTW I know they had a shoot out afterwards but did they kill the two murderers?
