i like this idea most of the people i hung around with in High School have either done time or are doing time for one crime or anouther the army tought me how to respect myself and how to respect others

I like this idea and would go one step further... refuse to enlist for service or fail to complete it, no problem your only consequence is that you have no vote.

I am all for reinstating the draft. It would also teach them to have respect for authority. And a work ethic that a lot of young people sadly lack in this country.

Actually I like that idea as I feel that everyone SHOULD serve their country at least for a couple of years. It isn't much to ask considering what we receive. It also gives people a sense of loyalty and the maturity to goes with it as well as giving one a sense of responsibility to it.

Good idea. In other countries around the world, the young people are required to serve in some capacity. Our young people could use this kind of unique perspective as they go out into the world.
