These idiots did not want to move, Of course the Media only shows what the police do never the mutts. I guess they want the police to use batons next time.

Linda Katehi represents the very worst of the UC system's hypocritical trend of pretending support of the right to dissent while dismantling our finest public forum to a silenced venue.
Shame on her.
Our universities are the last bastion of robust free speech. The collective voice of our youth are our society's conscience. We should shield it, not suffocate it.
Oust Katehi.

Unfortunately, UC Davis is not exactly the most "police friendly" city. Ironically, it's funny how these kids are protesting against corporate greed yet they had no issues filming the whole scenario with their Apple Ipods/Iphones

Absolutely ridiculous! These protesters are beyond obnoxious. There's no reason for the chancellor to step down whatsoever, and the police officers clearly did what they had to do.

simple, do as you are told and do not surround the police, pepper spray is not a baton, rubber bullets or beanbag rounds and is much safer than hands on.......they were given repeated warnings and chances by the college and then the police, break the rules pay the price!

Stupid. Why should the Chancellor step down or be held responsible for whatever the police do. He has no control over the Police. Additionally their little babies would not have been pepper-sprayed if they had stopped their illegal protesting and done what the Police ordered them to do. These kiddies were handled with kid gloves IMHO. Back 40 years ago or more even the very best and finest police Departments did not have all this non-lethal stuff and we had to wade into the demonstrators and physically removed the leaders of these protests by any and all means short of deadly force which mean nightsticks, saps, fist etc and many were badly hurt on both sides. I have no problem with peaceful protests that are legal under our constitution but these illegal "Occupy" BS has gotten out of hand with no real reason to protest.

The problem with liberal academics are that they are ignorant of the realities of the use of non-lethal force, and have a problem understanding that the breaking of will is a necessary part of ensuring human security and social order.
