I talked to my MH source and he said that in NY State the MH person would have been covered as being a mandated reporter. I would think most if not all states would have MH staff as mandated reporters as well.

I'm going have to talk to the Mental Health Dr who LE in my area turns to and over sees the LE MH Task force I sit on. I know there are execptions for MH in regards to the HIPPA laws but that is when LE contacts them. I would think there is an exemption along those lines. Just like medical personnel I would think they are mandated reporters and that would fit into being a mandated reporting offense I would think

seems that federal laws should be exempt from the "code" of not telling police about criminal activity, such as child pron and endangerment when this creep babysits little girls.
