I may be the biggest LE supporter around, but if the story is true and accurate, hold these guys accountable for their actions. No breaks, and no regrets.
This made me sick. There was no reason for this to happen and it appeared from the very beginning that these two men wearing officers uniforms were intent on beating this individual. Ramos slipped through the cracks when hired, probably as affirmative action. Why the guy with one eye was certified as a LEO I do not know. A one-eyed Officer should not be on the streets, period. I hope justice will be done and I also would like to extend my sorrow to the grieving father of this victim.
These officers weren't the real black eye to the department. No matter how grueling the screening process, scum balls will find a way to slip through. The real black eye is that they had to be routed out externally. Every other officer that was aware of this behavior choose to condone it. That is the black eye, and justice will fall short unless every officer that condoned these actions is held responsible for that breach of integrity. I'm sure there are good officers in that department that simply had no way to know what was happening, but the scope of the corruption in departments that can't self police is by necessity very large. Think about how much less of a black eye this would be if the first officer that saw this behavior stood up and said something rather than waiting until external pressure forced the investigation and the chief to take "medical leave".
From what is written, it sounds like both of these guys need to be terminated and locked up for a long time. It is guys like this that cause the public to distrust or even hate all Police Officers. I do have one question. Cpl.
Cisorelli lost an eye in 1996 while with the LA PD and left that agency. What in the heck is he doing working for another agency with only one eye ?
Our department trains us in dealing with the mentally ill. Most of the time it is easy to see the illness while other times it is rather difficult. But, in this case, it appears the officer was looking for a fight before even talking to Mr Thomas. There are no words to describe my feelings about this case other than me apologizing to the Thomas family on behalf of us true professionals that like to gain the public trust. In light of all the bad media law enforcement is getting now a days, why would an officer put himself in that position. When you must use force, use force. With all the people that were around this incident, if the officers were just, then it would be known by the statements of the people. I don't want to condemn the officers since this is still on going, but kinda hard not to. I'm a firm believer of the old saying, "treat others as you want to be treated." My condolences go out to the Thomas family.
Makes my blood chill. Definitely more training for handling the mentally ill is needed. When the adrenaline rushes in it is hard to stop an overreaction. May Justice be served.
I live in Southern California and I have been watching this case from the begining and what these two officers did to this homeless man was horrible and the Police chief of Fullerton PD went on medical leave because of this case. There where six officers being investigated in this case and only two where charged. There is also a recording of this beating on YouTube. It is under Kelly Thomas beating. A lot of people at the bus station recored this on there cellphones. There are two other lawsuits against these two officers and the Fullerton PD for police brutality.I don't think all police officers are like that. I now there are some good police officers out
there.

Justice should be served on these officers. Their actions were not justified by any stretch of the truth. That man did not deserve to die that way.
