NEW YORK – A reputed Bloods member was shot to death by an undercover cop Thursday when a drug sting in the Bronx led to a life-or-death gun fight, police said.
Nelson (Boss) Reeves, 17, had arranged to sell the undercover cop $20 of crack at an apartment building in Crotona around 11:20 a.m., police said.
But once they got inside the lobby of the Prospect Ave. building, Reeves forked over phony-looking drugs, police said.
“What’s the story with this? I want real crack,” the undercover said, trying to maintain his credibility, according to NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne.
“That’s going to cost you more money,” Reeves replied.
The undercover cop coughed up another $20. But Reeves barked for more – then pulled a .25-caliber pistol and tried to take all his cash. The undercover pulled his own gun and stepped back as Reeves fired and missed, Browne said.
Reeves fired again but the gun jammed, police said. The officer fired four times, mortally wounding Reeves. The suspect later died at Lincoln Hospital. The undercover cop was not hit.
Reeves, who friends described as a Bloods member, had previously served eight months of a one-year jail sentence for possession of a submachine gun, police said.

@Hbryant188: It should not matter if he was 16 or not. Especially since he was already a Blood's gang member and a dope dealer (and a crooked one at that). When a kid who doesn't have the scense to not shoot at the police, stay out of a gang like the Bloods, deal fake drugs, deal drugs at all and has a sub machine gun, he should be charged as an adult and sent to big boy prison for at least 15 years, if not life.

17, so young, too bad this kid was making all the wrong decisions- where are those parents? Unless he was acting up against them, those parents need to be investigated and possibly helped if they have any other children.
17 you should attending prom and school events, not dealing crack.
GOOD JOB to the Officer.

Good job to the Officer! What i find disturbing in this story is a known gang member only gets a one year sentence for possession of a machine gun. I understand jails are overcrowded so people get out early but seriously? That D-bag should have still been behind bars, although being 6 feet under will work too.
