Man, 80, Disapproves Of Daughter's Relationship; Kills Boyfriend

MADISON, Ind.— An 80-year-old southern Indiana man charged with murder for allegedly shooting his daughter’s boyfriend told police he didn’t approve of their relationship.
WAVE-TV of Louisville, Ky., reports that Boyd D. Wright Jr. of Madison was arrested for murder Tuesday night. He was being held Wednesday at the Jefferson County Jail, pending an initial hearing.
Madison police responding to a report of a man shot found 57-year-old Harry K. Harris wounded about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Harris was later pronounced dead at a Madison hospital.
Police said Wright told them Harris was dating his daughter and he did not approve of their relationship. Wright told officers that when he saw Harris sitting in a chair at his home he went into his bedroom, got a shotgun and shot Harris in the back.

How old was the daughter, 12? WHY did the "father" disapprove? And I don't want to give the old man's lawyer a defense factor, but he MUST be crazy. Had he ever met the boyfriend? Did he know anything about him before he shot him in the back?? God knows, "The world is in an uproar" as Ray Charles used to sing, but what would it be like if we could just walk up to people we disapprove of and shoot them, in the back no less! Before long, we'd all be dead.
