SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Authorities say four police officers have been hurt after a brawl inside a Saratoga Springs nightclub spilled into the street, where dozens of people began fighting.

Police in the upstate city tell local media that all 15 Saratoga officers on duty plus more than a dozen from other law enforcement agencies helped quell the melee outside Club Shadow early Sunday morning.

Officials say the fight started inside around 3:50 a.m. when someone threw a beer bottle. Police say 40 to 50 people were involved in about a dozen separate fights that erupted outside on Caroline Street, in Saratoga’s popular bar and restaurant district.

Authorities say four Saratoga police officers were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

Four men in their 20s were charged with resisting arrest or disorderly conduct.
