The powers to be at Rice have their heads well planted in their backsides. The officer did the right thing in coming to the aid of a fallen officer, he should hold his head up high. I would suggest that he hire a good lawyer and go after them for wrongfull termination.

Glad I don't work for Rice. The powers that be there are obviously just..........fill in your own horrible things.

Who would want to work for a department that would do that? This officer needs to apply to HPD, I'm sure they would love to have him.

The officer was on someones "to do" list and then came the opportunity to fire him. Let's see what public opinion can do..........

What I get out of this is that Rice U is close just two minutes and Rice U Police Officer is there. Isn't that what Police Officers should do support each other especially if they are in the same area. There have to be more to this story that's being let out to the media. Great job Officer from Rice U, Rice U sucks.

If he wasn't supposed to respond, why was his radio on the same frequency as the locals? Unless there's more to this, the Officer did the right thing.
