I typically do not care too much about the political realm or weigh in on any topics related to it. I guess that as I read it there were a few opinions that came to mind. I understand the logic that people should not just stop their lives and only be concerned about Police Week. I truly do. But I have an issue with the fact that the Commander in Chief, the man responsible for representing and supporting our nation, has not just on one occassion simpy overlooked the dedication and honor that the Fallen should be given, if even by taking a few moments to address the significance. I did not make it personally to Police Week, and I wish that I could, but I sure did take the time to honor the fallen, especially since one name that was engraved on the Memorial has more significance to me.
I understand that life goes on, I process that knowledge each and every day. But there are some things that should take priority at certain times.
SpencerStangz we are talking about a wrong that was done and you keep mixing your religion and politics together... very volitile. Join the Christian Cops group here for that. Join the various political groups to argue your stance on supporting the Communist party there.
My question to you is this and it's simple: Do you believe the POTUS has disrespected all LODDs by not honoring them, not once since he has been in office? Yes or No. It's that darned simple.
bump or GIGANTIC BUMP to dylan...that is a good point...how is it that y'all can speak so negatively of one authority figure, yet can't stand to hear anyone speak about LEOs? is it not the same thing?
you say you respect the office but not the man. the same could be said of many professions. are we really saying that everyone that wears a badge is automatically worthy of respect because of their position?
it comes back to respect. it appears that if someone says anything other than what some believe on here, y'all want them to shut up. that doesn't sound like "the american way". i think some other countries won't allow people to speak their mind.
lawmantukes, i respect you and value your opinion. i read them and listen to your view. i would never tell you to go away.
robocop, yes i sent you a PM as i have received numerous PMs from others. the reason being to address the person directly. again that is my religion that tells me to address the one i feel slighted me. i don't go a whine to others about it, i speak to you. so yes i did PM you respectfully. and you sent me a "warning". still, i gotta love you.
i was telling the truth sir. we just had golf tourney ourselves. i am sure we all have continued to live our lives and do the things that we enjoy while at the same time never forgetting those who have fallen. Police Week doesn't mean shut down everything and mourn. the best honor we can show is by serving. not complaining and pointing the finger at others.
The OFFICE of the President should be respected, not necessarily the man holding it. Obama does not deserve respect as he does not even respect this Nation or it's Constitution or the system of Capitalism which this country was based and thrived on.
The President does deserve some time off. Trouble is, this President has taken more total time off every six months than his predecessors have in their total entire term of Office up to eight years!
Stangz, you have sent me two PMs asking me why I don't like you, I think it is obvious to everyone but you why.
I am not surprised as our current President does not respect or even like LEOs. He calls them "Stupid" when they arrest his friend and tells them to stand behind the bus so they are not in the photo ops while campaigning, and doesn't say anything when his advance party places port-a-potties over a memorial for Officers killed in the line of duty. I only saw one time that he used a LEO in one of his speeches and that LEO was only there IMHO because he was a Black man, not because he was a LEO. Obama trying to use the race card again. Obama has zero respect for LEOs and will throw them under the bus in a heartbeat so no, I am not surprised at all that he ignores this week long celebration of the lives of our slain brothers and sisters.
My father taught me that respect is earned not given. I respect the office of President but not the man currently in it.
You cannot effectivly lead if you don't give due support to those who follow. If you want my respect then please lead
Mr. President!
And to all you people who follow "leaders' blindly will be led into the abyss. Remember "land of the free" is not so free. The brave are few. It is easy to be led around by the nose and not have to make hard decisions that will make you have to think, do, and be! And if y'all don't like my opinion to bad. I don't like this sheep mentality and I'll say so, just like you have the right to say baaaaa!
I totally agree that the President of the United States deserves respect. But it is difficult for me to respect a man who has no respect for the constitution, law enforcement or the best interest of this country.
To all those who continue to support this POTUS and turn the otherway and a blind eye whenever he does not live up to his responsibilities, SHAME ON YOU........!!!!!@##$%$^$%$^&*()(*&^%$#@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
