This president is a Fing disgrace and should be impeached. The least a president can do is on days of remembering they MAKE the time to pay tribute to the ones who have given the ULTIMATE sacrifice to protect this country from its enemies. He needs to GO.. Like soon.

And this surprises who? A president that hold all uniformed individuals in contempt, the military and law enforcement ws not going to give up some fund raising event to make an appearence where fallen heros are honored. And truthfully I am kind of glad he did NOT add his presence to the events and therefore tainting the memory of the day. Let him continue to socialize and elevate to prominence those who expouse the death and assualt on officers and preach hate discontent to the iuninformed masses. His day will come and he will one day wonder why he is alone.

As I read this, I became very upset.. you see I am a retired US Amy MP (20 years) and now 20 years in civilian LE, to watch MY great country become unfaithful, and so evil scares me for my grandchildren. There is no respect for our military, law enforcement and anything that helped make this country what it was at one time - the greatest natio on earth. I will always love my country. In my heart we are still the Greatest irregardless of these politicians in office. To be so oopenly disrespectful to the men and women who serve to protect this country is inexcusable. Heck he couldn't even salute or place his hand over his heart during the playing of Our Nation Anthem... These politicians have forgotten what their postions actually mean, to them its get what I can, and the heck with you all (hahaha). Public service was once a noble endeavor. Let us not forget what others have done so we may rekindle the American Spirit that our fore fathers had. Thank you for my rant and God Bless The USA !!!

USLawman1983 reminds us all of a very disrespectful act that was committed by BHO when he was campaining for Office. The "port-a-potty" incident that was such a discrace and insult to the Police Memorial, was an act that has to my knowlege gone without an apology from BHO himself. And as I recall, it was through his so called campaign managers that issued some sort of halve a$$ apology. And of course, going to play golf rather than to attend a very deserving and patriotic event such as the "Police Week" Candle Light Visual and Prayor Service, is very telling in it's self as to where his priorities lay.

Hbryant188 ; As one of those old retired Cops you don't choose to listen too , it's your choice to self destruct because you know it all. "The nice thing about being a HAS BEEN is the simple fact that we survived the streets because we paid attention to the older guys , now you as a want a be have a long way to go to survive to retirement". You also choose not to vote and that eliminated your voice as a Citizen based on apathy. You don't have that little star next to your name and if you are really an Officer that again shows you apathy but does not stand in the way of your opinionated berating of "REAL POLICE OFFICERS" who do have that star next to their names.

Are we really surprised at this President's intentional snubs to institutions that mean so much to the strength of our great country? Let's not forget he was the first President since 1953 skip the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball that honors recipients of the Medal of Honor. President Dwight Eisenhower created the event in 1953 and every President until Obama has attended this salute to military heroes. He was too busy rubbing elbows with celebrities to make a 15 minute appearance. I'm not a veteran, but that really bothered me.

He uses whatever is popular to bolster his appearance. When SEALS killed the Somali pirates holding an American ship captain, hostage, he took credit for giving the green light to shoot. When SEALS killed Bin Laden, he gave them praise, but ultimately took the credit for giving the green light.

His actions are disappointing, but we will not waiver in our work. Today I just finished working 24 straight hours to investigate and charge an offender with Aggravated Arson who set fire in a Veteran's hospital. It's just what we do when called upon to protect others from harm. Rather than try to look good for my bosses for working hard and charging the bad guy, I recommended several hospital employees (including two VA Police Officers) for lifesaving awards for evacuating patients during the fire. Why? Because my 24 hours of work was easy compared to their two minutes of terror.
