O’HARA, PA – A lengthy police standoff in O’Hara that followed a child custody dispute ended peacefully Sunday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers had said authorities had surrounded a Linwood Avenue home in which a man had barricaded himself with his 7-year-old child.
A dispatch supervisor said the incident began shortly after midnight when a child welfare caseworker alerted authorities of a heated custody dispute at the O’Hara home.
Local police responded, then at about 4:30 a.m., they requested the assistance of SWAT officers. The standoff ended around 8 a.m. with no injuries, and the boy was handed over to a grandmother, police said.
The man’s wife and other children had left the house before the incident, according to police.
The father’s name has not been released.

Very good job done with no one physically hurt. I hope the children have no emotional problems as a result of the incident. These parents should remember that children learn from what they see.
