This is just assinine to lower the standard for anyone, regardless of race. Those that did not make it should study harder and retest again to achieve their goal of becoming an officer. I would not want any subpar officer backing me on a call period. If a person can't pass the entry test, they will not pass the academy.

If you lower the standards then it is only a matter of time before your PD is infested with sub-standard officers and a marked increase in problems with them. Instead of lowering the standards for those who cannot pass the current test, how about offering study programs to assist those who have failed marginally so that they can learn what they need to pass the regular test.
