(NJ) Sens. Lautenberg, Menendez introduce federal gun-control bills

If 1,119 people were federally identified as being on the watch list that "illegally bought weapons or explosives, why was'nt there 1,119 federal arrest warrants issued and served?

This is the same Lautenburg of Lautenburg ACT fame, where by virtue of being involved in a domestic situation many of our military members lose their carreers, by virtue of not being able to be armed. Don't get me wrong, I am all for prosecuting abusers, however I feel many people are unfairly subjected to this blanket law, Normally libs and dems are all for restoration of rights for felons, and do not think misdeamenors should deny any rights, except gun rights, spitting on the sidewalk is enough for this particular right in thier eyes. It equates to nothing more than blind idealism.

If I am not mistaken I am not 100% positive but didn't Chicago have some outrageous gun control laws? I am also sure they have a problem with violent crime. DC same story ..

With all the gun laws on the books criminals will continue to get their hands on guns no matter how hard the US Government makes it. You would think by now the polititians would get it that gun laws do not effect no one but the law abiding citizens. More gun laws more gun violance more law abiding citizens killed by the hands of criminals who do not care about the gun laws that's being pass and like ilegworldchamp stated enforce the gun laws that's already on the books to the max and stop giving criminals house arrest for gun charges.

Just enforce "ALL THE ACTIVE PRESENT GUN LAWS TO THE MAX" and keep the Criminals who use guns in any form of crime in jail to serve every last day of their sentence. Keep the LIBERALS OFF THE PAROLE BOARDS so they can't try to reform the career criminals "ONE MORE TIME".!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In six years 1,119 people n the terrorist watch list bought guns. Based on the director of home land securitys defininition of a persons of interest we may all be on that list. NRA, pro 2nd amendment , ex military combat veteran, tea bag supporting right wingers :-)

I met a gentleman from Australia recently and asked him about the Gun Control laws down under. He stated that crime is worse than ever. Those who have guns are afraid to use them as they face jail. Their "liberals" keep stating gun control works because there are less guns. They refuse to acknowledge that crime is ever on the rise. Thats why he moved to the US.

Here we go again! A member of the House of Representatives gets shot and gun-grabbers go ape_sh$@. I am retired U.S.Army Military Policeman and former Deputy Sheriff in 2 counties in NC. I wanted armed citizens then and I do now. If people would not harm other people, I would be the first to beat my firearm into a plow; however, that is not realistic. I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic. I have not seen or heard anywhere there exists a document that states that oath has an expiration date... as for Rep Giffords, I hope she fully recovers... she is one of the good guys that believes in the Constitution...as for gun-grabbing liberals - "blow it out of your...."
