Florida Deputies Arrest 33 On Drug Charges
Associated Press
February 04, 2011
TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 33 people on charges of dealing prescription medications.
Officials say those arrested on Thursday range in age from 19 to 74 and are from different socio-economic backgrounds in all parts of Hillsborough.
Records show that some of the people got the pills legitimately and sold them. Others went “doctor shopping” for them. Deputies plan to interview each suspect in the hopes that those arrested will lead them to other dealers and unscrupulous clinics.
The arrests came the same day as Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that she is seeking tougher penalties for doctors and others who supply such prescription medications as pain killers to drug dealers and addicts.

Recently in HSV, AL our STAC team busted a Doctor with over 700 opium based prescription meds, a gun, and thousands of dollars in cash at a hotel. The charges were all dismissed b/'c in AL a doctor may have an UNLIMITED amount of prescription drugs. He got off scott free even though he was obviously dealing. I know has nothing to do with article but I just felt like ranting about it. Talk about dumb loopholes.
