EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Police in Indiana say an elderly man who apparently confused an accelerator pedal for a brake crashed his SUV through a restaurant wall and injured 10 people during the lunch hour.
Evansville police Officer Karen Kajmowicz (kah-MOH-vitch) tells radio station WIKY that eight people were taken to a hospital Thursday with injuries that don’t appear to be life-threatening. Two others refused treatment at the scene.
Kajmowicz says the person who suffered the worst injuries was trapped under the vehicle. She says an Evansville firefighter who was among those inside the Steak ’N Shake restaurant at the time was able to free that person.

Glad that everyone will be OK. It is time for the driver to stop driving.

Glad the injuries weren't more serious than they were. Unfortunately, elderly drivers with issues ( physical/mental/emotional ) are a common problem here in Florida. I'd like to see annual testing for drivers older than 65 with health issues.

Seems to happen quite a bit with the Elderly. It never ceases to amaze me that some folks are fine to drive in their mid-80's (my Father was one of them), but others should stop driving in their mid-60's.
