FL Thieves Steal $10M In Phone Equipment
Associated Press
January 19, 2011
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – More than $10 million in phone-related equipment was taken during a heist at an Orlando business.
Police say thieves climbed through the roof of an empty warehouse over the weekend, then broke through walls to enter Quality One Wireless Inc., sometime after it closed for the weekend Friday.
They disabled several security cameras, but were filmed by others. They used the company’s forklifts to load the merchandise onto three stolen trailers on the loading dock.
According to a police report, the thieves were inside the building long enough to have a meal. They also wiped the area clean of fingerprints. An undisclosed amount of cash was also stolen.

Something stinks on this one! No alarm system or at least not a very good one? They only disabled cameras that were an appearent threat, but left the rest - How did they know which ones were which? They were in the store long enough to steal $10 mil in cell phones without being noticed? Were there no patrol units in the area? Too many questions left unanswered.

This doesn't say much for the patrol checks in the area, they spent a lot of time in the area with no notice. That company needs a better alarm system.

This sounds odd. You would think a company with 10 million dollars in phone equipment would have an alarm.

I believe I heard that an alarm did activate. It's not clear at this time, why officers did not respond.

Uh aren't there any alarms? What the hell good are cameras if nothing is there to alert when something is awry? Just an observation.
