Officer Faces Review for Actions With Women

Associated Press

January 13, 2011

CARMEL, Ind. — A police merit board will review disciplinary charges against a central Indiana officer accused of acting inappropriately with women following traffic stops.

Carmel Police Chief Tim Green issued a statement Wednesday saying his department’s merit board will review charges against Officer Greg Park next Tuesday. Park has been suspended with pay since Nov. 18.

Park’s attorney, Robert Turner, tells WTHR-TV the suspension appears to be a “knee-jerk reaction.” He says Park has no history of serious discipline.

Turner says a school principal filed one complaint and another came from the mother of a student who received a traffic warning. The student’s mother says Park held her hand too long when they shook hands.

Turner says Park also might have discussed another officer’s case and that information got someone fired.
