The officers were lucky this time, the suspect should have been ordered out of the car as is. Good arrest.
What a weirdo. Good catch by this officer.
I am a little alarmed by this one little sentence; "He was ordered out of the vehicle after putting on his clothes."
Naked or clothed, the idea is to get the fruitcake away from the car. Correct proceedure would probably of been to: 1) cuff him, 2) put him in the back of a police car, 3) get a cover and throw it over him.
The officer needed to thank their lucky stars that this guy, while "supposedly extracting" his clothing from the car, that he didn't reach for the LOADED HANDGUN that he had hidden in his bag.
