This is another tragedy that our law enforcement community has to deal with and learn a lesson from.
First, R.I.P. Sister. Please watch down upon us and protect us.
Second, we as LEOs are UNDER ATTACK, everywhere, large and small communities, anytime, from anyone. Third, if you have a suspect at large, barricaded, who poses a risk to the safety of the public, i.e. has discharged a firearm into a dwelling, put the investigation on hold until the conclusion of the apprehension. Officer safety far outweighs the importance of evidence collection! You should protect yourself and the public first, by neutralizing the threat.
In closing, we have lost another sister, on the first day of the new year. Let's put our guard on high and turn the tables on these suspects who believe that we are easy prey. Get the mindest, not to be one of these statistics and be prepared to defend yourself, anywhere, anytime and against anyone. Stay safe and don't become the next victim in this war.
It is a shame that this fine officer's life was taken by this dirtbag that should have been in jail sinse the first incident. May Deputy Hoper rest in peace and her children find comfort from the Lord.
