LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies say a man wearing pink hospital scrubs, a Darth Vader mask, black wig and wielding a hatchet was arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank inside a grocery store where he worked as a courtesy clerk.

Deputy Mark Pope says 46-year-old Gregory Sanchez of West Covina was taken into custody Friday at the Albertsons grocery store in Rowland Heights about three hours after the robbery at the Bank of America branch located inside the Albertsons store.

Sheriff’s detectives would not say how much was taken from the bank, but determined during the investigation that the thief worked in the Albertsons market.

Sanchez is being held on $100,000 bail.
