It's a violation of customers civil rights they stop people who are honest and spending money in their stores do you really think someone who is stealing is going to stop, of course not. So, this guy is a Chief of Police, I am a Police Officer and I get offended when asked for my receipt but I don't take it out on the old guy checking at the door they are just doing their job. Wal-Mart should be held accoutable for this, stop violating peoples civil rights and detaining people without their consent, have you ever seen a sign stating "you may be stopped in this store and asked for your receipt?" No, me either.
The Chief could have done a better job of handeling this situation however Walmart has a bad habbit of this kind of behavior! ITS REALLY BAD AT SAMS CLUB SHOW YOUR PAPERS GOING IN AND COMING OUT! It is not a crime to be rude to the clerk!! and what authority does this 70 year old Greeter have! I wonder if they reported him to Big SIS! After all Walmart is now a branch of Homeland security!
He would have been better off to go back in and asked for a manager and returned all the merchandise!
This would hurt them more! Walmart is a joke!
LOL He was having a bad day. He had several chances to correct the situation. Too bad. Agents at my work place would be fired for far less.
