Man Accused of Swinging at Deputy Outside of FL Bar

MANATEE — A 22-year-old man was hit by a Taser and arrested after he took a swing at a sheriff’s deputy while being escorted away from a Bradenton bar early this morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Edgar Cuiriz was drunk and had been told to leave the El Paisano bar, 5803 15th St. E., according to a news release. As deputies tried to escort him away, he became aggressive and would not comply with their orders.
He took a swing at a deputy, who used his Taser once to bring Cuirz under control, according to the sheriff’s office.
Cuiriz was arrested, and was being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $870 on charges of assault on law enforcement and resisting arrest.
