10-Year-Old Girl Helps Police Identify Accused Molester

DEKALB COUNTY, GA – A 10-year-old DeKalb County girl helped police capture the man accused of molesting her Wednesday morning.
“She was inappropriately touched while she was on her way to school,” Officer Jason Gagnon with DeKalb police told the AJC.
The man, later identified as 49-year-old Stanford Reid Cowan, also allegedly threatened the girl, Gagnon said.
The girl was able to get away from the man, and when she got to Knollwood Elementary School, she let the school resource officer know what happened, Gagnon said. The school officer called police.
When officers interviewed the girl, whose name was not released, she was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect, Gagnon said.
“She described him down to a T,” Gagnon said.
Officers went to Cowan’s home and questioned him before he was arrested and charged with child molestation and making terroristic threats, Gagnon said.
Cowan was being held in the DeKalb jail Wednesday night without bond, according to jail records.

We need more brave little girls and boys just like this 10 year old. She did everything that she was suppose to do, down to a complete description of the suspect. I would hope DeKalb County recognize her actions.

God Bless the little girl. I hope she recovers emotionally from the trauma she experienced. Good Job by her. As for Stanford, there's a special place for you in the prison, where you will surely get your due, and then later, there is a very special spot waiting for you in Hell.....
