Nephew Shoots Hand With Officer's Gun
Associated Press
October 12, 2010
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The teenage nephew of a Panama City police officer reportedly shot himself in the hand with the officer’s gun.
Police say the 16-year-old boy was at the officer’s home Monday while the officer was away. Investigators say the boy was playing with the gun when it fired, sending a bullet through his hand. No other injuries were reported.
Police are calling the shooting an accident, but investigators are still trying to determine if any laws were broken.

If you are going to be away from home LOCK the guns in a gun safe of strong box of some type. If not then use a trigger lock and keep the ammo secured in a separate location. These types of incidents happen far too often and they are definitely preventable.

Secure your weapons, and teach every family member to respect firearms. They'll regret it if they don't.

Thankfull that the kid is alive, bet he won't play with guns again. The gun should have been in a secure location.
