PINOLE, CA – Pinole police released an artist’s sketch Saturday of a man who they say may have tried to abduct two young sisters Friday afternoon, threatening to shoot their family if they did not get in his car.

The suspect, described as an older white man with a gray goatee and a missing upper tooth, was driving an older model, green four-door Jeep with tinted windows, a rear-mounted tire and possible left headlight damage, police say. The license plate was described as blue and white with a “G” and a “5” in it.

Police say the man ordered the girls in the car just after 4 p.m. as they walked near Sunnyview Drive and Nob Hill avenue, just south of San Pablo Avenue, and that he grabbed the younger, 5-year-old girl by her shirt. Her sister, 10, pulled her away and the girls ran while the suspect drove away onto Marlesta Road, according to a police account.

Police ask anyone with information to call 510-724-8950.
