PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Authorities say a Florida Gulf Coast man is dead after confronting several suspects who were breaking into cars outside his apartment building.

Pinellas Park police say the 58-year-old man called 911 early Thursday to report that he had been attacked by the suspects and was bleeding profusely.

The man, who has not been identified, suffered multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries three hours later.

Investigators say it appears there were six individuals breaking into cars to steal stereos. The resident confronted the men and was attacked.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Pinellas at 1-800-873-TIPS.
